Dr. Bhaskaran graduated with Honors from Kilpauk Medical College in Madras, India. She completed her Psychiatric Residency at Baylor College of Medicine and served as Chief Resident during her final year of training. She is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Bhaskaran is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, and Houston Psychiatric Society, Texas Medical Association, and Harris County Medical Association. She was is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She has received the Outstanding Teaching Award selected by the residents of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. At one time she was the second-ranked table tennis player in India, and represented her native country in the World Championship and Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, and the World Championship competition in Calcutta later that same year.
Dr. Bhaskaran now has an exclusively outpatient practice serving adults of all ages. She has a special clinical interest in patients with mood and anxiety disorders. She also supervises the Physician Directed Intensive Outpatient Program at the South office.
