Biography

Dr. Marcellus obtained his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical School. Subsequent postgraduate training included a residency in Psychiatry and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Marcellus is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Texas Medical Association, and Harris County Medical Society. He was a recipient of the Eli Lilly Fellowship Program of the U.S. Psychiatric and Mental Health Congress, and has served on the Board of Directors of Mental Health America of Greater Houston. He is an examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Marcellus sees patients ages four and older in both office and hospital settings. He is the Chief Medical Officer at Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital and also serves as a consultant to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration on astronaut selection and behavioral health policy. He has a special interest in the treatment of ADHD and mood disorders. Dr. Marcellus is also Spravato REMS Certified.
