George D. Santos, MD

Dr. Santos received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He subsequently completed a residency in Psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Santos is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American College of Psychiatrists, Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, Houston Psychiatric Society, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, and the Harris County Medical Society. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and is a past President of both the state and local psychiatric societies. He is a Past President of the Harris County Medical Society, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD. He served as an examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and as a member of the Texas Medical Board Expert Panel. In 2008 the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians honored him with their prestigious Psychiatric Excellence Award.

Dr. Santos sees adult patients in his outpatient practice. He has special clinical interests in the treatment of mood and chemical dependency disorders, and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
