Biography

A Texas native, Dr. Liaou completed his Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biology with High Honors through the University of Texas at Ausin. After receiving his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, he completed his Psychiatry Residency through the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, during which time he distinguished himself by earning the 1st – 3rd Year Adult Psychiatry PRITE Awards, represented his program on the championship team of the APA 2023 MindGames, and became independently licensed and in private practice the latter half of his residency.

Dr. Liaou is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, Texas Medical Association, and Harris County Medical Society. He has a special clinical interest in the intersection of mood and anxiety disorders but has had broad training in settings including public mental health, neurocognitive and movement disorders clinics, and women’s mental health. His treatment approach is to leverage thoughtful, evidence-based psychopharmacology, considering both preference and safety, and to incorporate interventional techniques and insights from lifestyle medicine where appropriate. Dr. Liaou sees adult patients eighteen and older in outpatient practice.
