Monica Mehalshick LCSW, is an integrative therapist dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families thrive. She works extensively with professionals, executives, athletes, women, and parents—guiding them through life’s complexities with clarity, care, and clinical expertise. Monica brings over 18 years of experience in the mental health field, specializing in therapy for adults and late teens navigating addiction, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relational challenges. She is committed to providing a therapeutic space where clients feel empowered, understood, and equipped with practical tools for mental and emotional wellness. Her practice integrates evidence-based modalities, and she is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a highly effective treatment for emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance.
Monica earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Addiction Studies from Alvernia University and went on to receive her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently pursuing her PhD at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, further deepening her clinical knowledge and research in the field of mental health and human behavior. In addition to her work in private practice, Monica holds supervisor status in the State of Texas, allowing her to provide clinical supervision to emerging social workers. Her background includes working in state hospital settings, where she conducted crisis intervention assessments and collaborated with drug court programs and probation departments across the state to support individuals in recovery. She specializes in sleep disorders, working with Cluster B personality disorders, addiction and specifically supporting families and loved ones throughout the recovery process. Additionally, she also integrates CBT into her practice with clients.
