Biography

Dr. Diana Nakad-Rodriguez obtained a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with Distinction Honors from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. After earning her medical degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, she completed one year of residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. After discovering her passion for mental health, she completed general psychiatry residency training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a psychiatry resident, she received the Award for Excellence in Psychotherapy from the Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. She was also awarded the Pearsall Fellowship by the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas to recognize her dedication to training in psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Dr. Nakad-Rodriguez treats adult patients for a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including adjustment, anxiety, depressive, psychotic and bipolar spectrum disorders, as well as PTSD and ADHD. She implements lifestyle changes, medication management and psychotherapy in her holistic approach to treating patients. In addition, she has a strong interest in perinatal and reproductive mental health and welcomes patients considering pregnancy or who are pregnant or postpartum. She also speaks English and Spanish fluently.

Dr. Nakad-Rodriguez is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians and Marcé of North America.
