Dr. Giray obtained her medical degree from the University of Istanbul School of Medicine. After serving as an intern at the University of Zurich, she returned to Turkey to complete a Residency in Neurology at the University of Istanbul, Cerrahpasa School of Medicine. She completed a Fellowship in Sleep Disorders at Baylor College of Medicine and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Baylor. She subsequently completed a Residency in Psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Before entering private practice, she served as a Staff Psychiatrist at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Medical Center in Houston. She is board certified in Psychiatry as well as Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and in Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Giray is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, Houston Psychiatric Society, Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, and U.S. Southern Sleep Society. She is a former President of the U.S. Southern Sleep Society.
Dr. Giray sees adult patients in an office setting. In addition to a general psychiatric practice, she is an expert in sleep medicine. She currently serves on the steering committee and as a volunteer faculty member for the Sleep Disorders Fellowship program at Baylor College of Medicine, and is a consultant at Baylor’s Sleep Disorders Center. She also supervises both the Physician Directed Intensive Outpatient Program and the Sleep Support Program at the Loop Central office. She is fluent in Turkish as well as English. Dr. Giray is also Spravato REMS Certified.
